On Monday, 21 November 2022, in the evening at around 21:00, in Šiauliai, on Gegužių street near No. 30, at a yard or parking-lot exit, a collision with a reversing vehicle occurred. The collision involved an Opel Meriva - A and a BMW 320D. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 22-year-old driver of the Opel (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He had no driving licence. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
