On Sunday, 27 November 2022, in the evening at around 22:00, in Kaunas, on Žemaičių street near No. 3, a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved a BMW and a Mercedes-Benz Vito 109 CDI registered in Ukraine. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 32-year-old driver of the BMW (14 years of driving experience), who entered the oncoming traffic lane. He was drunk (0.90‰ blood alcohol). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, the weather was clear, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
