On Wednesday, 7 December 2022, at night at around 23:00, in Ukmergės district municipality, on the Kaunas–Zarasai–Daugpilis main road (kilometre 65.65), a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter registered in Moldova ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 29-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz (11 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was snowing, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
