On Sunday, 11 December 2022, in the evening at 18:30, in Kaunas, on Birštono street near No. 12, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a BMW X5, a BMW 120D and a Volvo XC60. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 32-year-old driver of the BMW X5 (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. She was drunk (1.47‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, there was a blizzard, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
