The accident was caused by the 37-year-old driver of the DAF (20 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. She was drunk (2.02‰ blood alcohol). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, there was a blizzard, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
