On Tuesday, 13 December 2022, in the afternoon at 11:30, in Šilutės district municipality, Žemaitkiemio village, on the Kaunas–Jurbarkas–Šilutė–Klaipėda national road (kilometre 166.35), a Mercedes-Benz A160 rolled over. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 39-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He evaded sobriety testing, had no driving licence and fled the scene. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
