On Friday, 23 December 2022, in the evening at around 17:00, in Šiauliai, on J. Basanavičiaus street near No. 69, a Mitsubishi Outlander hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 54-year-old driver of the Mitsubishi (32 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. He fled the scene. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was twilight, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
