On Saturday, 31 December 2022, in the evening at around 18:00, in Mažeikių district municipality, Šerkšnėnų village, on Vyšnių street near No. 2, a Mitsubishi Carisma ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 46-year-old driver of the Mitsubishi, who committed other traffic rule violations. He was drunk, had no driving licence and fled the scene. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, there was freezing rain, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
