On Friday, 3 March 2023, in the evening at 17:05, in Anykščių district municipality, Diktarų village, on the Rubikiai–Mačionys–Diktarai regional road (kilometre 11.27), a Volkswagen Sharan hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 36-year-old driver of the Volkswagen, who failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
