On Saturday, 4 March 2023, in the morning at around 5:00, in Pasvalio district municipality, on the Panevėžys–Pasvalys–Ryga main road (kilometre 50.80), a Mazda 3 registered in Latvia ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 43-year-old driver of the Mazda, who failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was snowing, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
