On Saturday, 11 March 2023, in the afternoon at around 12:00, in Klaipėda, on Šilutės pl., at the junction with Jūrininkų pr., a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Golf and a Volvo V50. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 25-year-old driver of the Volkswagen, who failed to keep a safe distance. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
