On Sunday, 7 May 2023, at night at around 0:00, in Šakių district municipality, Šilgalių village, on P. Būčio street near No. 2, a Rover 25 rolled over. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 19-year-old driver of the Rover, who failed to choose a safe speed. She was drunk (1.55‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. A 18-year-old passenger of the Rover was drunk (1.43‰). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
