On Friday, 19 May 2023, in the afternoon at 15:15, in Klaipėda, on Smiltelės street, at the junction with Taikos pr., a BMW hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. Two people were injured — a 15-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient) and a 17-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 22-year-old driver of the BMW (4 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober.
