On Sunday, 4 June 2023, in the evening at around 17:00, in Mažeikių district municipality, Kapėnų village, on Pavasario street, at the junction with Dvaro street, a vehicle ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by an unidentified person, who failed to choose a safe speed. He fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
