On Wednesday, 14 June 2023, in the morning at around 5:00, in Šiauliai, on Petro Motiekaičio street, at the junction with Felikso Vaitkaus street, a Passat T registered in Belarus hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 40-year-old driver of the Passat T (10 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
