On Wednesday, 28 June 2023, in the evening at 20:46, in Mažeikių district municipality, on Laisvės street near No. 218, a Volvo S80 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 29-year-old driver of the Volvo (11 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.48‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene.
