On Monday, 31 July 2023, in the afternoon at 16:20, in Rietavo municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 250.25), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volvo XC90 and a BMW 3ER Reihe. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 51-year-old driver of the Volvo (12 years of driving experience), who violated traffic rules on motorways. Both drivers were sober.
