On Saturday, 5 August 2023, in the morning at 10:13, in Kretingos district municipality, on the Salantai–Plateliai–Alsėdžiai regional road (kilometre 3.70), a collision with a motorcycle occurred. The collision involved a Honda CRF 250 registered in Sweden and a BMW F 650 GS registered in Sweden. Two people were injured — the 55-year-old driver of the Honda (treated as an outpatient) and the 54-year-old driver of the BMW (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 55-year-old driver of the Honda (5 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
