On Saturday, 12 August 2023, in the afternoon at around 16:00, in Klaipėdos district municipality, on J. Basanavičiaus street, at the junction with 109 street, a Volkswagen Passat ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 55-year-old driver of the Volkswagen, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.76‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
