On Saturday, 26 August 2023, in the evening at 22:43, in Plungės district municipality, Gintališkės village, on Platelių street near No. 9, at the junction with Šateikių street, an Opel Meriva registered in Ukraine ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 53-year-old driver of the Opel (20 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, there was fog, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
