On Friday, 8 September 2023, in the evening at 18:56, in Šiaulių district municipality, on the Viešvėnai–Luokė–Upyna–Dirvonėnai regional road (kilometre 33.49), an Opel Vectra-B-Caravan rolled over. One person was injured — a 21-year-old passenger of the Opel (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 21-year-old driver of the Opel, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.57‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
