On Monday, 2 October 2023, in the afternoon at around 16:00, in Tauragės district municipality, Sartininkų village, on Pieninės street, at the junction with Knygnešių street, a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved a Peugeot 406 and a GAZ 3308. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 33-year-old driver of the Peugeot, who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. He was drunk (3.18‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
