On Thursday, 12 October 2023, in the evening at around 18:00, in Raseinių district municipality, Steponkaimio village, on the Ilgižiai–Kupsčiai regional road (kilometre 3.60), a BMW ran off the road. One person was injured — the 17-year-old driver of the BMW (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 17-year-old driver of the BMW, who failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
