On Thursday, 26 October 2023, in the afternoon at around 16:00, in Marijampolės municipality, on the Kaunas–Marijampolė–Suvalkai (kelio ruožo su skir. juosta k. pusė) main road (kilometre 39), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The accident was caused by the 62-year-old driver of a car (43 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. Both drivers were sober.
