On Wednesday, 1 November 2023, in the afternoon at 12:44, in Šilutės district municipality, Žemaičių Naumiesčio town, on Dariaus ir Girėno street near No. 33, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved an Opel Meriva and a Skoda Superb. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 66-year-old driver of the Opel (20 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 5 km/h.
