On Wednesday, 8 November 2023, at night at around 3:00, in Zarasų district municipality, Kalbutiškių village, on the Lukšiai–Kalbutiškės–Dusetos regional road (kilometre 6), a Seat Leon ran off the road. Two people died — the 29-year-old driver of the Seat (later died from the injuries, was not wearing a seatbelt) and a 33-year-old passenger of the Seat (later died from the injuries, was not wearing a seatbelt). The accident was caused by the 29-year-old driver of the Seat (8 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. The Seat had recorded faults (ratų). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
