On Friday, 22 December 2023, in the evening at around 22:00, in Telšių district municipality, Mažųjų Burbiškių village, on the Janapolė–Pavandenė–Žiogė regional road (kilometre 12.30), a vehicle hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person was injured — a 54-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by an unidentified person, who committed other traffic rule violations. He fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was snowing, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
