On Wednesday, 24 January 2024, in the morning at 10:30, in Šilalės district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 247), an Opel Zafira ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 67-year-old driver of the Opel (48 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober.
