On Thursday, 8 February 2024, in the evening at 18:45, in Zarasų district municipality, on the Dusetos–Užpaliai–Vyžuonos regional road (kilometre 11.94), a Scania R 470 registered in Latvia ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 50-year-old driver of the Scania (25 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was snowing, the road surface was icy. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
