On Tuesday, 9 April 2024, in the afternoon at 15:55, in Varėnos district municipality, Šklėrių village, on Šklėrių street, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a quad bike and a Nissan X-Trail. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 38-year-old driver of a quad bike, who failed to give way when changing direction. She was drunk (2.06‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
