On Friday, 31 May 2024, in the morning at around 6:00, in Kaunas, on A. Smetonos al. near No. 85, a traffic accident occurred. The accident involved a BMW 5ER Reihe. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 23-year-old driver of the BMW, who committed other traffic rule violations. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
