On Monday, 15 July 2024, in the afternoon at 13:30, in Molėtų district municipality, on the Giedraičiai–Miežoniai–Dubingiai regional road (kilometre 1.54), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Polo, a Jansky - and a Volvo. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 52-year-old driver of the Volkswagen, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.63‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
