On Monday, 22 July 2024, in the evening at around 18:00, in Jonavos district municipality, on Chemikų street near No. 2, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Toyota registered in Sweden and an Audi A4 Avant. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 62-year-old driver of the Toyota (35 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
