On Sunday, 11 August 2024, in the evening at around 18:00, in Raseinių district municipality, on Ateities street near No. 19, a Yamaha hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person was injured — a 12-year-old pedestrian (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 14-year-old driver of the Yamaha, who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
