On Monday, 12 August 2024, in the afternoon at around 14:00, in Klaipėdos district municipality, Lankupių village, on Mikelio Šapalo street near No. 7, a Peugeot hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 47-year-old driver of the Peugeot (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
