On Monday, 9 December 2024, in the evening at around 20:00, in Šiauliai, on Gardino street near No. 2, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a BMW and a Toyota Avensis. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 46-year-old driver of the BMW, who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (3.34‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was overcast, the road surface was dry.
