On Saturday, 28 December 2024, at night at 4:45, in Kaunas, on A. Mickevičiaus street near No. 8, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a BMW 730 d and a Hyundai Elantra. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 15-year-old driver of the BMW, who failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
