On Thursday, 3 January 2013, in the evening at 17:44, in Joniškio district municipality, on V. Kudirkos street near No. 65, an Opel Astra hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by a 58-year-old pedestrian, who was walking at night without reflectors (light, hi-vis vest) and was walking on the carriageway where prohibited. He was drunk (3.27‰ blood alcohol). The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
