Drunk Citroen driver and Seat crash on the Dauparai–Gargždai–Vėžaičiai road
On Tuesday, 8 January 2013, in the afternoon at 15:40, in Klaipėdos district municipality, on the Dauparai–Gargždai–Vėžaičiai national road (kilometre 8.25), a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. The collision involved a Citroen Xantia registered in Sweden, a Seat Alhambra and a MAZ 8114. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 33-year-old driver of the Citroen (15 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. He was drunk (2.09‰ blood alcohol). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
