On Wednesday, 9 January 2013, in the evening at 20:30, in Kaišiadorių district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 71), a Honda Accord hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 57-year-old driver of the Honda (28 years of driving experience), who violated traffic rules on motorways and committed other traffic rule violations. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 100 km/h.
