On Thursday, 10 January 2013, in the afternoon at 14:09, in Pasvalio district municipality, on the Panevėžys–Pasvalys–Ryga main road (kilometre 21.18), a Scania R500 registered in Latvia rolled over. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 62-year-old driver of the Scania (a citizen of Latvia) (36 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was overcast, it was snowing, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
