On Friday, 11 January 2013, in the evening at 18:20, in Ukmergės district municipality, on the Ukmergė–Molėtai national road (kilometre 4), a Peugeot 406 hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by a 29-year-old pedestrian, who was walking at night without reflectors (light, hi-vis vest) and was walking on the carriageway where prohibited. He was drunk (1.35‰ blood alcohol). The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was snowing, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
