On Wednesday, 16 January 2013, in the evening at around 18:00, in Prienų district municipality, on the Vilnius–Prienai–Marijampolė main road (kilometre 106.65), a Mercedes-Benz 814 rolled over. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 72-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz (21 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
