On Sunday, 20 January 2013, in the afternoon at 16:15, in Anykščių district municipality, on the Radiškis–Anykščiai–Rokiškis national road (kilometre 4.07), a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved an Audi 80 and an Opel Vectra. Two people died — the 71-year-old driver of the Audi and a 58-year-old passenger of the Audi. Three people were injured — the 32-year-old driver of the Opel (hospitalized), a 29-year-old passenger of the Opel (treated as an outpatient, was not wearing a seatbelt) and a 3-year-old passenger of the Opel (severely injured, hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 71-year-old driver of the Audi (44 years of driving experience), who entered the oncoming traffic lane. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was overcast, it was snowing, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
