On Sunday, 20 January 2013, in the afternoon at around 15:00, in Kaunas, on Baltijos street, at the junction with J. Grušo street, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Caddy and a Toyota Avensis. One person was injured — a 42-year-old passenger of the Toyota (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 52-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (30 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was snowing, there was a blizzard, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
