On Friday, 1 February 2013, in the afternoon at around 13:00, in Anykščių district municipality, on S.Dariaus-S.Girėno street near No. 1, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Renault Espace and a Mazda 323. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 24-year-old driver of the Renault, who committed other traffic rule violations. He was drunk (0.72‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet.
