On Saturday, 9 February 2013, in the evening at 18:44, in Šiaulių district municipality, on the Kuršėnai–Mažeikiai national road (kilometre 5), a Volkswagen Golf hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person was injured — a 23-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by a 23-year-old pedestrian, who was walking at night without reflectors (light, hi-vis vest) and was walking on the carriageway where prohibited.
