On Tuesday, 12 February 2013, in the morning at 9:55, in Marijampolės municipality, on Gamyklų street near No. 9, at a yard or parking-lot exit, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved an Opel Vectra registered in Germany and a Mercedes-Benz 1836. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 32-year-old driver of the Opel (a citizen of Tajikistan) (11 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
