On Thursday, 7 March 2013, in the evening at 21:30, in Klaipėda, on Pilies street near No. 4, a collision occurred. The collision involved a Dodge Grand Caravan, a Mitsubishi Carisma, a Peugeot 307 and a Jaguar S-Type registered in Latvia. Three people were injured — the 22-year-old driver of the Mitsubishi (treated as an outpatient, was not wearing a seatbelt), a 17-year-old passenger of the Mitsubishi (treated as an outpatient, was not wearing a seatbelt) and a 23-year-old passenger of the Mitsubishi (treated as an outpatient, was not wearing a seatbelt). The accident was caused by the 19-year-old driver of the Dodge (less than a year of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. He was drunk (0.75‰ blood alcohol). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
