On Sunday, 17 March 2013, in the evening at 19:45, in Šilutės district municipality, on the Šilutė–Užliekniai regional road (kilometre 4.93), a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved a Mazda Xedos 6 and a Volkswagen Golf. Two people were injured — the 27-year-old driver of the Mazda (treated as an outpatient) and the 22-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (hospitalized, was not wearing a seatbelt).
